A Camp for all Scouting Units – Have Your Adventure Here!

http://www.trcbsa.org/Camping/Schiff/

Schiff Scout Reservation is a 400 acre camp located in the Long Island Pine Barrens at Wading River, NY. Camp Wauwepex, which means “Place of Good Water,” opened in 1921 in Miller Place, then moved to the present location the next year. It has faithfully served campers from Nassau County ever since. As might be expected of a camp that old, it is steeped in Scouting tradition and history. The camp is open to boy scout troop weekend camping and activities, Order of the Arrow events, youth and adult training programs, but keeps very busy with Cub Scout camp, utilized year-round.

Deep Pond, the camp’s lake, is a glacial kettlehole pond that has excellent fishing for yellow perch and chain pickerel. Trout are stocked by the NYS-DEC in the fall.

Camping facilities include tent sites, lean-tos, and cabins together with facilities for training and a new, state of the art dining hall!

Council has a brand new online reservation service, easy to use, to help you select the facilities to support your unit’s program!
