Alpine Scout Camp is located in the heart of Alpine, New Jersey and is only 10 miles north of the George Washington Bridge and is operated by the Greater New York Councils, Boy Scouts of America. The camp is located at 441 Route 9W, Alpine, NJ 0762, just off the Palisades!
They offer short term camping to Scouts and have a large selection of facilities, everything from small tenting sites to a large conference center which can sleep over 40. Alpine Scout Camp offers a large range of weekend activities including:
THE GARY I LAERMER ACTIVITY CENTER: Outdoor Climbing Tower, Indoor Climbing Wall, Ping Pong Tables, Foosball Tables, Volleyball Court and Basketball Court.
ARCHERY RANGE: 8 shooting positions, and bows for both youth and adults. The Range is open during limited times/weekends due to weather and Campmaster availability.
BB RANGE: 6 targets and uses the benchrest position for shooting. The Range is open during limited times/weekends due to weather and staff availability.
ORIENTEERING COURSE: The Compass Course was created by Bronx Unit, Ship 544 for scouts of all ages. It covers most of our camp and takes about 2 hours to complete. You can pickup a copy of the course at the Alpine Trading Post. You will need a compass.

THE ALPINE SCOUT CAMP “RED DOT TRAIL”: The trail is about 5 miles long and covers the camps near 600 acres. Walking the trail requires a good pair of hiking boots. You will be crossing small streams and stepping over logs. Please never attempt walking the trail alone.
PALISADES HIKE: Just outside of camp is the Palisades Interstate Park. It offers hiking trails and scenic views of both New York City and the Hudson River. Units are invited to seek appropriately lengthed hikes, many hike the Long Path on one day overnight with us and return via the Shore Trail to New York City. Some sections of the trails include steep and slightly challenging terrain. Please never attempt hiking the Palisades alone.

At the Alpine Scout Camp we have 14 cabins with capacity ranging from 10 to 20 beds. Also, nine of our cabins are equipped with electric and forced-air-heat. All cabins have heat and a four burner propane stovetop.
